1. WHO ने हर्षवर्धन को किया सम्मानित
WHO ने 1 जून 2021 को केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री हर्षवर्धन को भारत में तंबाकू की खपत को नियंत्रित करने के उनके प्रयासों के लिए महानिदेशक विशेष पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया।
हर साल, WHO दुनिया भर में व्यक्तियों या संगठनों को तंबाकू नियंत्रण के क्षेत्र में उनकी उपलब्धियों के लिए मान्यता देता है।
यह मान्यता WHO के महानिदेशक विशेष मान्यता पुरस्कार का रूप लेती है।
2. कैबिनेट ने अर्जेंटीना के साथ समझौते को मंजूरी दी
कैबिनेट ने खनिज संसाधनों के सहयोग के लिए भारत और अर्जेंटीना के बीच हस्ताक्षर किए जाने वाले समझौते को मंजूरी दे दी है
इसका उद्देश्य भारत के ऊर्जा सुरक्षा लक्ष्यों को सुगम बनाना है और इसमें रणनीतिक खनिजों और भविष्य के निवेश के लिए संयुक्त उद्यम स्थापित करना शामिल है।
इसका उद्देश्य खनिजों की खोज और विकास को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए सहयोग जैसी गतिविधियों को मजबूत करना है।
3. पाकिस्तान और मिस्र ने किया सैन्य अभ्यास
पाकिस्तानी और मिस्र की सेनाएं दोनों देशों के बीच सैन्य सहयोग बढ़ाने के लिए 'स्काई गार्डियन्स 1' अभ्यास में भाग ले रही हैं।
दो सप्ताह तक चलने वाला संयुक्त वायु रक्षा अभ्यास, जो 26 मई 2021 को काहिरा में शुरू हुआ था, हवाई क्षेत्र में मौजूदा और उभरते खतरों का सामना करने के लिए मजबूत और यथार्थवादी प्रशिक्षण पर केंद्रित है।

4. महापात्र को मिला CBDT का अंतरिम प्रभार
केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (CBDT) के सदस्य जगन्नाथ विद्याधर महापात्र 3 महीनों की अवधि के लिए CBDT अध्यक्ष के पद के कर्तव्यों और जिम्मेदारियों का निर्वहन करेंगे।
फरवरी 2021 में सरकार ने CBDT के अध्यक्ष प्रमोद चंद्र मोदी के कार्यकाल को तीसरी बार 3 महीने के लिए 31 मई 2021 तक बढ़ा दिया था।
1982 बैच के भारतीय राजस्व सेवा अधिकारी, मोदी ने फरवरी 2019 में CBDT प्रमुख के रूप में पदभार संभाला
था।
5. केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने मॉडल टेनेंसी एक्ट को मंजूरी दी
केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने मॉडल टेनेसी एक्ट को मंजूरी दे दी है।
सरकार ने सभी राज्यों/केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में नए कानून बनाने या किराये से सम्बंधित मौजूदा कानूनों में उपयुक्त संशोधन के माध्यम से अपनाने के लिए इसे प्रसारित करने के लिए कहा है।
मॉडल टेनेंसी एक्ट का उद्देश्य देश में एक जीवंत, टिकाऊ और समावेशी किराये के घर का बाजार बनाना है।

6. अफ्रीकी संघ ने माली को निलंबित किया
एक सैन्य तख्तापलट के जवाब में अफ्रीकी संघ ने माली की सदस्यता निलंबित कर दी है और नागरिक नेतृत्व वाली सरकार की वापसी न होने पर प्रतिबंध लगाने की धमकी दी है।
सेना ने अंतरिम राष्ट्रपति बाह नदाव और प्रधान मंत्री मोक्टर ओउने को गिरफ्तार कर लिया और उन पर इस्तीफा देने के लिए दबाव डाला।
तख्तापलट का नेतृत्व करने वाले पूर्व उपराष्ट्रपति कर्नल असिमी गोइता को राष्ट्रपति घोषित किया गया है।
7. SDG इंडेक्स का तीसरा संस्करण लॉन्च करेगा NITI आयोग
भारत के सतत विकास लक्ष्यों का तीसरा प्रतिपादन, SDG इंडेक्स 3 जून 2021 को NITI आयोग द्वारा लॉन्च किया जाएगा।
इंडेक्स रिपोर्ट का यह संस्करण साझेदारी के महत्व पर केंद्रित है और इसका शीर्षक है "SDG इंडिया इंडेक्स एंड डैशबोर्ड, 2020-21: पार्टनरशिप्स इन द डिकेड ऑफ एक्शन"।
इंडेक्स के इस तीसरे संस्करण में 17 लक्ष्य, 70 प्रयोजन और 115 संकेतक शामिल हैं।
8. वयोवृद्ध नौकरशाह एस.वी. प्रसाद का निधन
एकीकृत आंध्र प्रदेश के पूर्व मुख्य सचिव (CS) एस.वी. प्रसाद का 2 जून 2021 को COVID-19 के कारण निधन हो गया।
उन्होंने एन जनार्दन रेड्डी, के. विजय भास्कर रेड्डी और एन. चंद्रबाबू नायडू सहित तीन मुख्यमंत्रियों के लिए 10 से अधिक वर्षों तक प्रधान सचिव के रूप में कार्य किया।
सितंबर 2011 में सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद, उन्होंने एकीकृत राज्य आंध्र प्रदेश के लिए सतर्कता आयुक्त के रूप में कार्य किया।
9. पंजाब ने दी मलेरकोटला जिले के निर्माण को मंजूरी
पंजाब सरकार ने 2 जून 2021 को राज्य के 23वें जिले के रूप में मलेरकोटला के निर्माण को औपचारिक मंजूरी दे दी।
जिले को संगरूर जिले से अलग कर बनाया जाएगा।
सरकार ने मलेरकोटला सब-डिवीजन के भाग अमरगढ़ को सब-डिवीजन या तहसील के रूप में अपग्रेड करने के लिए भी अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है।
मलेरकोटला जिला में अब मलेरकोटला, अहमदगढ़ और अमरगढ़ के रूप में 3 उप-मंडल होंगे।
10. बिहार में लड़कियों के लिए 33 फीसदी आरक्षण
बिहार सरकार ने राज्य के इंजीनियरिंग और मेडिकल कॉलेजों में छात्राओं को 33 प्रतिशत आरक्षण देने का फैसला किया है।
इस कदम से इंजीनियरिंग और मेडिकल क्षेत्र में छात्राओं की संख्या में वृद्धि होगी।
सरकार इन संस्थानों को बेहतर ढंग से प्रबंधित करने के लिए इंजीनियरिंग और चिकित्सा विश्वविद्यालयों की स्थापना के लिए एक विधेयक लाने की कोशिश कर रही है।
11. 12वीं स्वच्छ ऊर्जा अनुसचिवीय बैठक
चिली द्वारा 31 मई से 6 जून, 2021 के बीच 12वीं स्वच्छ ऊर्जा अनुसचिवीय बैठक (CEM) का आयोजन आभासी तौर पर किया जा रहा है।
स्वच्छ ऊर्जा मंत्रिस्तरीय औद्योगिक डीप डीकार्बोनाइज़ेशन इनिशिएटिव (IDDI) के तहत, भारत और UK ने औद्योगिक ऊर्जा दक्षता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक नया कार्यप्रवाह शुरू किया है।
इस पहल का उद्देश्य हरित प्रौद्योगिकियों को बढ़ावा देना और कम कार्बन वाली औद्योगिक सामग्री की मांग को प्रोत्साहित करना है।
12. भारत को मिलेगी 8 नई फ्लाइंग ट्रेनिंग अकादमियां
भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण (AAI) की उदार उड़ान प्रशिक्षण संगठन (FTO) नीति के तहत भारत को 8 नई उड़ान प्रशिक्षण अकादमियां मिलेंगी।
ये अकादमियां बेलगावी, जलगांव, कालाबुरागी, खजुराहो और लीलाबाड़ी में स्थापित की जाएंगी।
इन आठ FTO की स्थापना का उद्देश्य भारत को वैश्विक उड़ान प्रशिक्षण केंद्र बनाना है।
यह भारतीय कैडेटों के विदेशी FTO में पलायन को भी रोकेगा।

14. केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने दी SCO समझौते को मंजूरी
मंत्रिमंडल ने शंघाई सहयोग संगठन (SCO) के सभी सदस्य देशों के बीच मास मीडिया के क्षेत्र में सहयोग पर एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर और अनुसमर्थन के लिए अपनी कार्योत्तर मंजूरी दे दी है।
समझौते पर जून 2019 में हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे।
यह समझौता मास मीडिया के क्षेत्र में संघों के बीच समान और पारस्परिक रूप से लाभकारी सहयोग को बढ़ावा देगा।
15. इज़ाक हर्जोग बने इजरायल के ग्यारहवें राष्ट्रपति
यहूदी एजेंसी के अध्यक्ष और लेबर पार्टी के पूर्व प्रमुख इज़ाक हर्जोग को इजरायल के ग्यारहवें राष्ट्रपति के रूप में चुना गया है
उन्होंने सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता मिरियम पेरेट्ज़ को 87 मतों से हराया।

The WHO on 1 June 2021 awarded the Director General Special Award to Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan for his efforts to control tobacco consumption in India.
Every year, WHO recognizes individuals or organizations around the world for their achievements in the field of tobacco control.
This recognition takes the form of the WHO Director-General's Special Recognition Award.
2. Cabinet Approves Agreement With Argentina
Cabinet has approved the agreement to be signed between India and Argentina for cooperation in mineral resources
It aims to facilitate India's energy security goals and includes setting up joint ventures for strategic minerals and future investments.
It aims to strengthen activities such as cooperation to encourage exploration and development of minerals.
3. Pakistan and Egypt conducted military exercises
Pakistani and Egyptian armies are participating in the exercise 'Sky Guardians 1' to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
The two-week long joint air defense exercise, which began in Cairo on 26 May 2021, focuses on robust and realistic training to counter existing and emerging threats in the airspace.
The exercises are focused on building operational readiness.
4. Mohapatra gets interim charge of CBDT
Jagannath Vidyadhar Mohapatra, Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) will discharge the duties and responsibilities of the post of CBDT Chairman for a period of 3 months.
In February 2021, the government extended the term of CBDT Chairman Pramod Chandra Modi for the third time for 3 months till 31 May 2021.
A 1982 batch Indian Revenue Service officer, Modi took over as the CBDT chief in February 2019
5. Union Cabinet Approves Model Tenancy Act
The Union Cabinet has approved the Model Tennessee Act.
The Government has asked all the States/UTs to enact new laws or to disseminate the same through suitable amendments in the existing rental laws.
The Model Tenancy Act aims to create a vibrant, sustainable and inclusive rental home market in the country.
6. African Union suspends Mali
In response to a military coup, the African Union has suspended Mali's membership and threatened sanctions if the civilian-led government does not return.
The military arrested Interim President Bah Nadav and Prime Minister Moctor Ouane and pressured them to resign.
Col Asimi Goita, the former vice-president who led the coup, has been declared president.

The SDG Index, the third rendition of India's Sustainable Development Goals, will be launched by NITI Aayog on 3 June 2021.
This edition of the Index Report focuses on the importance of partnerships and is titled "SDG India Index and Dashboard, 2020-21: Partnerships in the Decade of Action".
This third edition of the index includes 17 goals, 70 objectives and 115 indicators.
8. Veteran bureaucrat SV. Prasad passed away
Former Chief Secretary (CS) of Unified Andhra Pradesh S.V. Prasad passed away on 2 June 2021 due to COVID-19.
He worked with N Janardhan Reddy, K. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy and N. Served as Principal Secretary for more than 10 years to three Chief Ministers including Chandrababu Naidu.
After retirement in September 2011, he served as the Vigilance Commissioner for the unified state of Andhra Pradesh.
9. Punjab approves creation of Malerkotla district
The Punjab government on 2 June 2021 gave formal approval to the creation of Malerkotla as the 23rd district of the state.
The district will be carved out of Sangrur district.
The government has also given its approval to upgrade Amargarh, a part of Malerkotla sub-division, as a sub-division or tehsil.
Malerkotla district will now have 3 sub-divisions as Malerkotla, Ahmedgarh and Amargarh.
10. 33 percent reservation for girls in Bihar
Bihar government has decided to provide 33 percent reservation to girl students in engineering and medical colleges of the state.
This step will increase the number of girl students in engineering and medical fields.
The government is trying to bring in a bill to set up engineering and medical universities to better manage these institutions.
11. 12th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting
The 12th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting (CEM) is being organized virtually by Chile from May 31 to June 6, 2021.
Under the Clean Energy Ministerial Industrial Deep Decarbonization Initiative (IDDI), India and the UK have launched a new workflow to promote industrial energy efficiency.
The initiative aims to promote green technologies and stimulate the demand for low-carbon industrial materials.
12. India to get 8 new flying training academies
India will get 8 new flying training academies under the liberal Flight Training Organization (FTO) policy of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
These academies will be set up in Belagavi, Jalgaon, Kalaburagi, Khajuraho and Lilabari.
The purpose of setting up these eight FTOs is to make India a global flight training center.
It will also prevent migration of Indian cadets to foreign FTOs.

The Cabinet has given its ex-post facto approval for the signing and ratification of an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Mass Media among all the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The agreement was signed in June 2019.
The MoU will promote equitable and mutually beneficial cooperation among the federations in the field of mass media.
15. Isaac Herzog becomes the eleventh President of Israel
Isaac Herzog, president of the Jewish Agency and former head of the Labor Party, has been elected as the eleventh president of Israel.
He defeated social worker Miriam Peretz by 87 votes.
Herzog, who is the son of the sixth President of Israel, Chaim Herzog, and the grandson of Israel's first major rabbi, will succeed Reuven Rivlin when his term ends on July 9, 2021.
